Elizabeth Turner 1834 to 1878 married to Michael Tierney

Elizabeth Turner was born to Mary and George Turner on December 1, 1834, at North Richmond. She married Michael Tierney on December 12, 1851, at Richmond.

Michael was the son of Owen and Mary Tierney. Elizabeth died at Kurrajong on May 21, 1878, and Michael died at Windsor on July 27, 1883. Elizabeth died of Typhoid as did her son George. You can read about the wave which infected the Hawkesbury in 1878 here.

Elizabeth and Michael had nine children.

7. Albert 1871 to 1888 single

8. Amos 1873 to ??

9. Angeline 1875 to 1939 (married to Joseph London in 1896 at Richmond).

Job Wisbey Wilson 1867 to 1935 married Alice Hennessey

Job Wisbey Wilson was the fifth child of Thomas Wilson and Hannah Douglass. He was born in Kurrajong in 1867 and died there in 1935. Job married Alice Hennessey, descendant of Thomas Hennessey and Phoebe Wilson in 1896. A newspaper obituary can be read here

They had five children.

1. Maggie Doris 1897 - 1955 married George William Case. They had two children.

2. Michael Thomas 1898 - 1955. (known as Mick. He is buried at St Stephen's Kurrajong, see headstone below.)

3. Hannah Doreen 1900 - 1967 married Darcy Edwin Upton in 1918.

4. Alma Alice 1904 - ? married Michael Tierney in 1927 and Mr Preston.

5. Alice Edna 1910 - 1942 married Mr Laffy. Alice died tragically at the age of 31. See newspaper story about her death. Alice is listed on the headstone below.

Sarah Overton 1844 to 1875 married Richard Packer

Sarah Overton was the first daughter and third child of Mary Turner and James Overton. Sarah was born in Kurrajong in 1844 and died in North Richmond in 1875. She married Richard Packer in 1863. They had six children.

1. Hannah 1864 - 1925 married Joseph Perry and Ernest Tierney. They had at least 5 children.

2. Mary An 1866 - 1925 married William Thomas Merrick. They had ten children.

5. Eliza 1872 - 1872

6. Elizabeth 1873 - ?

George Tierney 1853 to 1878

George Tierney was the first son of Elizabeth Turner and Michael Tierney. He was born in 1853 and died in 1878. George is buried at St Philips cemetery in North Richmond. George was one of many people who died of Typhoid in a wave which affected many in the Hawkesbury during 1878. You can read about it here.

Thomas Tierney 1855 to 1941

Thomas Tierney was the second son of Elizabeth Turner and Michael Tierney. He was born in 1855 and died at Windsor in 1941.

John Tierney 1857 to 1927 married Elizabeth Overton

John Tierney was born to Elizabeth Turner and Michael Tierney in 1857. He died in 1927 at Richmond and is buried at St Stephen's Kurrajong. In 1882 John married Elizabeth Overton and they had eleven children. Elizabeth died in 1942 and is buried at St Philips cemetery in North Richmond. Henry Tierney 1860 to 1878

Henry Tierney was born in 1860, the fourth child of Elizabeth Turney and Michael Tierney. The exact year of his death has not been verified, however there was a Henry Tierney who died in Carcoar in 1878. 

Michael Tierney 1864 to 1905

Michael Tierney was born in 1864 and died in Kurrajong in 1905. He did not marry. He was the fifth child of Elizabeth Turner and Michael Tierney, and he lived on Bullsridge where he was a farmer. You can read information about his estate sale here.

Michael was buried at St Stephens, Kurrajong.

Albert Tierney 1871 to 1888

 Albert Tierney was born in 1871 and died in 1888. He was the seventh child of Elizabeth Turner and Michael Tierney. It is not currently verified where he is buried.

Amos Tierney 1873 to ?

Amos Tierney was born in 1873. His parents were Michael Tierney and Elizabeth Turner. I have not been able to verify any further details surrounding him.

Angelina Tierney 1875 to 1939 married Joseph London

Angelina Tierney was the last child of Elizabeth Turner and Michael Tierney. She was born in 1875. In 1896 at Richmond, Angeline married Joseph London.

They had at least two children
