John Silk was the eight child of Jessie Wilson and Henry Silk. He was born in 1873 and died in Dubbo in 1927. John married Florence Dunsmore in 1904.

John later changed his name to Reynolds after his mother married Charles Reynolds. He and Florence had five children.
