Edward WILSON 1816 to 1902 married to Susannah Riley

The second surviving son of Elizabeth and Job Wilson was Edward. Their first son Edward died as a baby.

Born on December 15, 1816, at Castlereagh NSW, Edward died on May 30 in 1902 at Kurrajong. Edward married twice, first to Anne Sherwood who died in 1839 (no issue) and secondly to Susannah Riley (daughter of John and Catherine Riley) on April 11 in 1847.

Adelaide Frances Wilson 1854 to 1933 married to John Merrick

Adelaide Francis Wilson was the fourth child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. She was born in Kurrajong in 1854 and died at Hornsby in 1933. Adelaide married John Merrick in 1875.

Adelaide and John had seven children.

1. Charles John 1876 - 1923 married Christina Woods. Possibility of two other marriages. He had five children.

2. Edith Susannah 1878 - 1948 married Ernest Thiele and Guy Engleheart. She had three children.

3. Rowland William 1880 - 1958 married Alice Moulds. He had at least one child.

4. Alexander Leslie 1883 - 1961 married Gertrude Palmer. He had three children.

5. Lillian May 1885 - 1980 married Thomas Drinkwater. They had two children.

6. Violetta May 1888 - 1889.

7. Eva Eliza 1890 - 1936 married Cyril Small. She had two children.

John OVERTON 1838 - 1924

John Overton was the first son of Mary Turner and James Overton. He was born in 1838 in Kurrajong and died in Schofields in 1924. John married Jane Mitchell in 1859 in Richmond.

They had nine children.


1. Susannah 1857 - 1937. Married Daniel Alderton in 1880. They had thirteen children.

2. James 1859 - 1941. Married Elizabeth Merrick in 1887. They had eleven children.

3. Elizabeth 1862 - ?. Married Robert Lindores in 1882. They had eleven children.

4. Alice Jane 1865 - 1922. Married Joseph Hurst in 1884.

5. Sarah Ann 1867 - 1878.

6. William John 1870 - 1947. Married Ellen Griffiths in 1894. They had nine children.

7. Mary Ann 1873 - 1937. Married Henry E Mitchell in 1897. They had four children.

8. Clara 1877 - 1878.

9. John 1882 - ?. Married Mary Kilpac in Gosford in 1902.

Sarah Overton 1844 to 1875 married Richard Packer

Sarah Overton was the first daughter and third child of Mary Turner and James Overton. Sarah was born in Kurrajong in 1844 and died in North Richmond in 1875. She married Richard Packer in 1863. They had six children.

1. Hannah 1864 - 1925 married Joseph Perry and Ernest Tierney. They had at least 5 children.

2. Mary An 1866 - 1925 married William Thomas Merrick. They had ten children.
