Thomas Wilson 1835 to 1901 married to Hannah Douglass

Thomas Wilson was born to Elizabeth and Job Wilson at Kurrajong on July 10, 1835. He married Hannah Douglass on December 17,1857 at Richmond. 

Thomas died in January 1901 and is buried at St Stephens Church Kurrajong. His daughters placed a memorial for him in the 1901 Windsor and Richmond Gazette (here). Probate for his estate is advertised here.

Hannah died in Kurrajong on December 8, 1928 (her newspaper obituary can be read here.

Thomas and Hannah had five children.

1. Sarah Matilda 1859 to 1940 (married to her cousin Job Wilson in 1877 at Kurrajong)

3. Elizabeth Ann 1863 to ?? (married Frederick Charles Stratford in 1885 at Richmond)

John Barwick Jnr 1833 to 1861 married to Sarah Douglas

John Barwick Jnr was born to Charlotte and John Barwick at Kurrajong on June 14, 1833. He died near Warialda on September 12, 1861. John married Sarah Douglas on January 16, 1856.

John and Sarah had 1 child.

1. Kate Eliza 1857 to 1933 (married to John Wellesley Eather in 1881). Kate and John had ten children.

John Ambrose WILSON 1847 to 1935 married to Maria Peck

John Ambrose Wilson was the first son of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. He was born in Kurrajong, NSW in 1847 and died at Riverstone, NSW in 1935.

John married Maria Peck at Kurrajong in 1869. They had 9 children.

Phoebe Jane Wilson 1849 to 1926 married to Thomas Hennessey & George Patterson

Phoebe Jane Wilson (1849 to 1926) was the second child and first daughter of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. She was born in Portland Head, NSW on the Hawkesbury River. She died in Lithgow, NSW.

She married Thomas Hennessey in 1867 at Enfield NSW.  It is not known when Thomas died. Phoebe then married George Fairweather Patterson at Orange in 1899.

Phoebe had eleven children.

1. Alvina May 1868 -1901 married Cornelius Collins. They had 7 children.

2. Alice Jane 1870 - 1956 married John Wisbey Wilson. He was the son of Thomas Wilson and Hannah Douglass.

3. Ada 1872 - 1952 married Andrew Gardiner. They had two children.

4. Agnes 1874 - 1916 married George McManus and then Jack McKivatt. She had at least one child with George McManus.

5. Ellen 1876 - 1910 married George Sterling. They had four children.

6. Susannah 1878 - 1955 married Samuel Watson. They had seven children.

7. Thomas 1880 - 1961 married Alice (Alfena) Osborne. He had three children.

8. Selina Grace 1883 - 1931 married Joseph Hepple in 1907 and then James Roberts. Had two Hepple children and at least one Roberts child.

9. D'Arcy Harold 1886 -1950 married Emily Hamerton. They had two children.

10. Percival Reginald 1886 - 1959 married Ethel Hamerton. They had three children.

11. Stella Ann 1889 - 1917 married Archibald Tinnock. They had at least one child.

Sarah Matilda WILSON 1859 - 1940 married Job Wilson

Sarah Matilda Wilson was the first child of Thomas Wilson and Hannah Douglass. She was born in 1859 in Kurrajong and died in Windsor in 1940. She married Job Wilson, in 1877 at Kurrajong. Job was the son of Timothy Wilson and Elizabeth Riley.

Sarah and Job had 13 children.


1. Cecil (1877 -?) married Muriel Atkinson. They had three children.

2. Peter Robert (1879 - 1931) married Eunice Stratford. They had four children.

3. Lillian Marie (1880 - 1969) married Robert John Silk. They had children.

4. Grace Syliva (1882 - 1882) died as an infant.

5. Eliud Thomas (1883 - 1967) married Barbara Lewis. They had nine children.

6. Constance Hannah (1885 - 1926) married Thomas Gavin. They had three children.

7. Elsie May (1887 - 1894) died as a child.

8. Alma Elizabeth (1889 - 1902) died as a child.

9. Bernice Evelyn (1891 - 1982) married Thomas Brown. They had five children.

10. Gladys Maude (1892 - 1893) died as a child.

11. Rachel Matilda (1894 - 1912) died aged 18.

12 Hiliary Herbert (1897 - 1981) married Cinderella Gow. They had four children.

13. Hilmer Job (1899 - 1899) died as a child.

Thomas John Wilson was the second child of Thomas Wilson and Hannah Douglass. He was born in Kurrajong in 1860 and died there as an infant in 1862.

Elizabeth Ann Wilson 1863 to ? married Charles Stratford

Elizabeth Ann Wilson was the third child of Thomas Wilson and Hannah Douglass. She was born in Kurrajong in 1863 and died ? In 1885 she married Frederick Charles Stratford.

Elizabeth and Frederick Charles had five children.

1. Laura Alma 1883 -1883.

2. Eugene Thomas 1885 - 1885.

3. Harold Frederick 1886 - 1964 married Ethel Metcalf in 1914. They had one child.

4. Eunice Maud 1889 - 1928 married Peter Robert Wilson in 1910. Peter was a descendant of Job Wilson via Timothy Wilson.

5. Verona 1890 -1954 She married Joseph McKivett in 1916.

Job Wisbey Wilson 1867 to 1935 married Alice Hennessey

Job Wisbey Wilson was the fifth child of Thomas Wilson and Hannah Douglass. He was born in Kurrajong in 1867 and died there in 1935. Job married Alice Hennessey, descendant of Thomas Hennessey and Phoebe Wilson in 1896. A newspaper obituary can be read here

They had five children.

1. Maggie Doris 1897 - 1955 married George William Case. They had two children.

2. Michael Thomas 1898 - 1955. (known as Mick. He is buried at St Stephen's Kurrajong, see headstone below.)

3. Hannah Doreen 1900 - 1967 married Darcy Edwin Upton in 1918.

4. Alma Alice 1904 - ? married Michael Tierney in 1927 and Mr Preston.

5. Alice Edna 1910 - 1942 married Mr Laffy. Alice died tragically at the age of 31. See newspaper story about her death. Alice is listed on the headstone below.

Louisa Hurst 1849 to 1932 married James Douglass

Louisa Hurst was the seventh child of Elizabeth Barwick and Samuel Hurst Senior. Louisa was born in 1849 in Kurrajong. She married James Douglass in 1871 in North Richmond and died there in 1932. Louisa and James had thirteen children. They lived at Wheeny Creek, Redbank Creek and Netley Hill before living at ''Carlhurst'' in Crooked Lane North Richmond.

1. Ada 1873 -1961. Married Frederick Brown. They had five children.

2. James 1874 -1952. Married Ethel Wilson. They had ten children.

3. Burtrus 1875 - 1987. Married John Parker and Thomas Merrick. 

4. Burgess 1878 - 1962. Married Gertrude Richardson. They had two children.

5. Donald 1880 - 1945. Married Jessie Richardson. 

6. Claude 1882 - 1916. Died WW1.

7. Hilda 1882 - 1964 Married Fitzwilliam Mortimer. They had three children.

8. William 1884 - 1941. Married Nettie Horan. They had three children.

9. Walter 1886 - 1955. Married Mary Lavender. They had one child.

10. Clara 1888 - 1976. Married John Armstrong.

11. Whynn 1890 - ? Married Evelyn Hayne

12. Gladys Sylvia 1893 - 1961 Married Rudolph Hayman

Henry Giddins 1850 to 1929 married Mary ?

Henry Giddins was the second child of Harriett Barwick and William Giddins. He was born in Kurrajong in 1850 and died in Warren in 1929. Henry partnered with Mary ?

2. Ernest Henry 18?  - 1944 Married Anna Most. They had two children.

3. Alice M 1876 - 1960. Married George Jordan. They had three children.

Kate Eliza Barwick 1857 to 1933 married John Wellesley Eather

Kate Eliza Barwick was the only child of John Barwick Jnr and Sarah Douglas. Kate was born in Kurrajong in 1857 and died in North Richmond in 1933. Kate married John Wellesley Eather in 1881. George Barwick 1865 to 1946 married Edith Ewers

George Barwick was the third child of William Barwick and Mary Douglas. He was born in North Richmond in 1865 and died in Wingham in 1946. George married Edith Adelaide Ewers in 1891 in Dubbo. They had three children.

1. Violet Eva 1892 -1972. Married John Schneider. They had two children.

2. Henry Edward 1894 - 1975. Married Elma McGilvray. They had six children.
