Elizabeth BARWICK 1822 to 1900 married to Samuel Hurst

Elizabeth Barwick was born to Charlotte and John Barwick on December 8, 1822 and died on May 7, 1900 at Kurrajong. Elizabeth is buried at St Stephen's Anglican Church in Kurrajong. She married Samuel Hurst on May 11, 1837.


Elizabeth and Samuel had twelve children.

7. Louisa 1849 to 1932 (married to James Douglass in 1871 at North Richmond)

8. Jane 1851 to 1890 single

9. Rachel Frances 1855 to 1947 (married to James Bonus in 1877 at Kurrajong)

10. Rebecca Sophia 1857 to 1935 (married to Edward Hobbs in 1878 at Kurrajong)

11. Joseph 1861 to 1944 (married to Alice Overton in 1884, descendant of Mary and George Turner)

12. Daughter born and died in infancy.

John Davis 1846 to 1921 married Sarah Wilson

John Davis was the fourth child of Elizabeth Wilson and George Davis. He was born in Kurrajong, NSW in 1846 and died in Cargo, NSW in 1921. John married his cousin Sarah Wilson (daughter of Simeon Wilson and Elizabeth Horan).

John and Sarah had twelve children.

Lawson Davis 1862 to 1938 married Rachel Sharp

Lawson Davis was the eleventh child of Elizabeth Wilson and George Davis. Lawson was born at Kurrajong, NSW in 1862 and died in Cumnock, NSW in 1938. He married Rachel Sharp at Cargo, NSW in 1892. You can read his obituary here.

Lawson and Rachel had fourteen children.

1. Lawson William 1892 - 1956 married Ruth Johns. They had eight children.

2. Henry Isaac 1894 - 1962 married Evelyn Phillips. They had five children.

3. Rachel Elizabeth 1895 - 1905. According to this newspaper article Rachel died from burns.  

4. James Herbert 1897 - 1960 married Christina Morris. They had two children.

5. Louisa May 1899 - 1965 married to Harry Phillpot. They had three children.

6. Walter John 1901 - 1976 married Pearl Davis. They had four children.

7. Hilda 1903 - ? married Herbert Bailey and Leslie Sherringham. Hilda had three children.

8. Neta 1906 - 1970 married Percival Burrell. They had five children.

9. Edward Stanley 1907 - ? married Gladys Barter. They had nine children.

10. Florence 1909 -1913.

11. Isaac 1911 - 1914.

12. Jessica Maud 1913 - ? married Alfred West. They had four children.

13. Lionel Albie 1916 - 1988 married Phyllis Shepphard. They had two children.

14. Edna Rachel 1919 - 1978 married Raymond Matthews. They had two children.

Job Wilson 1858 to 1902 married Sarah Wilson

Job Wilson Jnr, was the son of Timothy Wilson and Elizabeth Riley. He was born in Kurrajong in 1858 and died in North Sydney in 1902. He married a cousin, Sarah Matilda Wilson. 

Sarah was the daughter of Thomas and Hannah Wilson. Job and Sarah were married in Kurrajong in 1877.

They had 13 children.

1. Cecil (1877 -?) married Muriel Atkinson. They had three children.

2. Peter Robert (1879 - 1931) married Eunice Stratford. They had four children.

3. Lillian Marie (1880 - 1969) married Robert John Silk. They had children.

4. Grace Syliva (1882 - 1882) died as an infant.

5. Eliud Thomas (1883 - 1967) married Barbara Lewis. They had nine children.

6. Constance Hannah (1885 - 1926) married Thomas Gavin. They had three children.

7. Elsie May (1887 - 1894) died as a child.

8. Alma Elizabeth (1889 - 1902) died as a child.

9. Bernice Evelyn (1891 - 1982) married Thomas Brown. They had five children.

10. Gladys Maude (1892 - 1893) died as a child.

11. Rachel Matilda (1894 - 1912) died aged 18.

12 Hiliary Herbert (1897 - 1981) married Cinderella Gow. They had four children.

13. Hilmer Job (1899 - 1899) died as a child.
