John Turner 1836 to 1882 married Ann McCarthy

John Turner was the seventh child of Mary Rogers and George Turner. John was born in North Richmond in 1836 and died in Kurrajong in 1882.

He married Ann McCarthy aka McCartney in1862. They had eight children.  

There are numerous newspaper mentions of a John Turner at Kurrajong, including this article.

2. Reuben Thomas 1865 - 1929 Married Mary Ann McCabe (died 1906). They had eleven children.

3. Harriett 1866 -1866 Twin of Daniel

4. Daniel 1866 - 1866

5. Amy 1867 - ? Married John Darley. They had five children.

6. Mary Ann 1868 - ? 

7. Elizabeth 1871 - ? Married Alfred McCabe. They had nine children. Elizabeth was known as 'Aunty Betty'.

8. John 1879 -?

Many family members are buried at St Philip's Anglican Church cemetery on Bells Line of Rd North Richmond.

Rosetta Turner 1864 to 1929 married Albert London

Rosetta Turner was born in Kurrajong in 1864 to George Turner Junior and his wife Sarah Mitchell. In 1881 in Richmond, Rosetta married Albert London. Rosetta died at Marrickville, NSW in 1929. Unfortunately, Albert died by suicide in 1898.  He is buried at St Philips Cemetery, North Richmond.

Rosetta and Albert had seven children.

George Tierney 1853 to 1878

George Tierney was the first son of Elizabeth Turner and Michael Tierney. He was born in 1853 and died in 1878. George is buried at St Philips cemetery in North Richmond. George was one of many people who died of Typhoid in a wave which affected many in the Hawkesbury during 1878. You can read about it here.

Reuben Thomas Turner 1865 to 1929 married Mary Ann McCabe

Reuben Thomas Turner was the second son of John Turner and Ann McCarthy. He was born in 1865 and died in 1929. He is buried at St Philips Cemetery in North Richmond alongside his wife Mary Ann McCabe who he married in 1885 at Richmond. Mary Ann died in 1906, and they are buried together. Unfortunately, Reuben died by suicide - which you can read in this graphic article. 

They had ten children. Note: sometimes Thomas R is listed on the birth certificate rather than Reuben.

Elizabeth Turner 1871 to 1956 married Alfred McCabe

Elizabeth Turner was born in 1871 and died in 1956. She was the daughter of John Turner and Ann McCarthy. In 1893 Elizabeth married Alfred McCabe and they had nine children. Elizabeth was known as 'Aunty Betty". Both Elizabeth and Alfred are buried at St Philips Cemetery North Richmond. You can read Alfred's obituary here.
