Edward WILSON 1816 to 1902 married to Susannah Riley

The second surviving son of Elizabeth and Job Wilson was Edward. Their first son Edward died as a baby.

Born on December 15, 1816, at Castlereagh NSW, Edward died on May 30 in 1902 at Kurrajong. Edward married twice, first to Anne Sherwood who died in 1839 (no issue) and secondly to Susannah Riley (daughter of John and Catherine Riley) on April 11 in 1847.

Edward is buried at St James Church in Kurrajong Heights. Edward was an active member of the community, and you can read a newspaper article about him using this link.

Simeon Wilson 1818 to 1902 married to Elizabeth Riley/Horan

Simeon Wilson was born to Elizabeth and Job Wilson in August 1818 at Toongabbie. He died on May 9 1902 at Kurrajong. In 1842, Simeon married Elizabeth Riley aka Horan (died 1886) at Pitt Town.

Timothy Wilson 1826 to 1897 married to Elizabeth Riley

Timothy Wilson, son of Elizabeth and Job Wilson was born on October 9 in 1826 at Kurrajong. In 1848 he married Elizabeth Riley at Richmond. He died at Spring Hill near Orange on August 29, 1897.

Timothy and Elizabeth had 9 children.

John Ambrose WILSON 1847 to 1935 married to Maria Peck

John Ambrose Wilson was the first son of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. He was born in Kurrajong, NSW in 1847 and died at Riverstone, NSW in 1935.

John married Maria Peck at Kurrajong in 1869. They had 9 children.

Diana Wilson 1851 to 1927 married to Samuel Hurst and John Shepherd

The second daughter of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley was Diana. Diana Wilson was born at Kurrajong in 1851 and died there in 1927. In 1872 Diana married Samuel Hurst. After Sam's death in 1896, Diana married John Shepherd in 1899.

Samuel was the son of Elizabeth Barwick and Samuel Hurst and was born in Kurrajong in 1841. He and Diana were second cousins. Sam died in October 1896. There is a lovely newspaper memorial from Diana for Sam.

5. James 1881- 1955 married Mildren Glidden. They had at least three children.

6. William Kenneth 1884 - 1969 married Celia Allister. They had three children.

7. Priscilla 1886 - 1954 married Herbert Stanford. They had five children.

9. Horace Gordon 1891 - 1976 married Nellie Richards. They had two children.

10. Arthur Leslie 1892 - 1952 married Mabel Hastings. No record of children.

Agnes Matilda Wilson 1856 to 1933 married Julian Underwood Alley

Agnes Matilda was the fifth child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. She was born at Kurrajong in 1856 and died in 1933. She married Julian Underwood Alley in 1879.

They had twelve children.

1. Walter Underwood 1879 - 1935 married Esther Judd. They had nine children.

2. George Underwood 1880 - 1957 married Florence Pannel and had at least one child.

3. Alfred Ernest Underwood 1882 - 1962 married Ellen Winter. They had five children.

4. Percy Underwood 1884 - 1957 married Bridget Denton and Ruby Allen. He had 13 children.

5. Linden Underwood 1886 - 1959 married May Morgan. No children.

6. Julien Underwood 1888 - 1948 married Jessie Grahame. They had six children.

7. Rowland Edward 1890 - 1976 married Clara Wardley. They had at least one child.

Roland Edward Wilson 1861 to 1895 married Ellen Riley

Roland Edward was the seventh child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. He was born at Kurrajong in 1861 and died there in 1895. Roland married Ellen Riley in 1885.

They had six children.

1. Florence May 188? was the natural daughter by Roland's relationship with Louisa Shepherd. She was adopted by her grandfather Edward Wilson.

5. Clement Clarence 1892 - 1969 married Olivia Tulloch. They had at least one child.

James Job Wilson 1863 to 1920 married Agnes Quinn

James Job Wilson was the eighth child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. He was born in Kurrajong, NSW in 1863 and died in 1920.

James was married to Agnes Quinn in 1891. James was accidentally shot by his son Roy at their residence in North Sydney. You can read the article here.

Alfred Thomas Wilson 1872 - 1955 married to Ethel Howard

The tenth and last child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley was Alfred Thomas. Alfred was born in 1872 in Kurrajong, NSW and died in 1955. He married Ethel Howard in 1902.

They had three children.

1. Norman William 1902 - 1973 married to Hazel Fisher and then Beatrice Charles.

2. Phyllis Maud 1906 - 1956 married to Bernard Vincent Schache. They had one son, the legendary Bruce Howard Schache (1931 - 2012).

3. Alfred Stanley 1909 - 1969 married Phoebe Kathleen Case. They had one son.

Elizabeth Ann WILSON 1849 to 1939 married Joseph Sherwood

Elizabeth Ann Wilson was the first child of Timothy Wilson and Elizabeth Riley. She was born in Kurrajong in 1849 and died in Bankstown in 1939. Elizabeth married Joseph Sherwood in Richmond in 1871.

The had six children.

1. Alice Elizabeth (1872 -?) married Malcolm McFarlane. They had five children.

2. Annie Mythia (1873 - 1951) married Robert McCaskiell. They had five children.

3. Colin (1875 - 1905) married Esther Hopkins. They had two children.

4. Esrom Joseph (1878 - 1938) married Alice Beldon. They had nine children.

5. Ethel Irene (1881 - ?) married Ernest Edwards. They had four children.

6. Claude William (1883 - 1884) died as an infant.

Martha Jane Wilson 1855 to 1871

Martha Jane Wilson was the daughter of Timothy Wilson and Elizabeth Riley. She was born in 1855 in Kurrajong and died there in September 1871 aged 16. Martha is buried at St Stephen's Anglican Church.

John Wilson 1865 to 1918 married Florence Child

John Wilson was the 8th child of Timothy Wilson and Elizabeth Riley. He was born in Kurrajong in 1865 and died in 1918 at Penrith, NSW. He married Florence Child in 1898, and they had seven children.

Sarah Matilda WILSON 1859 - 1940 married Job Wilson

Sarah Matilda Wilson was the first child of Thomas Wilson and Hannah Douglass. She was born in 1859 in Kurrajong and died in Windsor in 1940. She married Job Wilson, in 1877 at Kurrajong. Job was the son of Timothy Wilson and Elizabeth Riley.

Sarah and Job had 13 children.


1. Cecil (1877 -?) married Muriel Atkinson. They had three children.

2. Peter Robert (1879 - 1931) married Eunice Stratford. They had four children.

3. Lillian Marie (1880 - 1969) married Robert John Silk. They had children.

4. Grace Syliva (1882 - 1882) died as an infant.

5. Eliud Thomas (1883 - 1967) married Barbara Lewis. They had nine children.

6. Constance Hannah (1885 - 1926) married Thomas Gavin. They had three children.

7. Elsie May (1887 - 1894) died as a child.

8. Alma Elizabeth (1889 - 1902) died as a child.

9. Bernice Evelyn (1891 - 1982) married Thomas Brown. They had five children.

10. Gladys Maude (1892 - 1893) died as a child.
