Edward WILSON 1816 to 1902 married to Susannah Riley

The second surviving son of Elizabeth and Job Wilson was Edward. Their first son Edward died as a baby.

Born on December 15, 1816, at Castlereagh NSW, Edward died on May 30 in 1902 at Kurrajong. Edward married twice, first to Anne Sherwood who died in 1839 (no issue) and secondly to Susannah Riley (daughter of John and Catherine Riley) on April 11 in 1847.

Thomas Wilson 1835 to 1901 married to Hannah Douglass

Thomas Wilson was born to Elizabeth and Job Wilson at Kurrajong on July 10, 1835. He married Hannah Douglass on December 17,1857 at Richmond. 

Thomas died in January 1901 and is buried at St Stephens Church Kurrajong. His daughters placed a memorial for him in the 1901 Windsor and Richmond Gazette (here). Probate for his estate is advertised here.

Hannah died in Kurrajong on December 8, 1928 (her newspaper obituary can be read here.

Thomas and Hannah had five children.

Thomas Wilson, Hannah Wilson (nee Douglass) St Stephens Church, Kurrajong

Jane Wilson 1838 to 1892 married to Daniel Neal

Jane Wilson was born to Elizabeth and Job Wilson at Kurrajong in 1838. She married Daniel Neal on June 18, 1856 at Richmond. Jane died in Ourimbah on the Central Coast on October 20, 1892.  I am not sure when Jane, Daniel and their family moved to the Central Coast. The earliest mention I have found is from their daughter's marriage date of 1884.

Daniel died in 1896 following a fight in Ourimbah. Newspaper articles about this event can be read here and here. It appears that the person who hit Daniel, was James Moran, who was the father of Daniel's daughter in law Elizabeth Moran. More details about the inquest can be read here. Jane and Daniel had 7 children. Unfortunately, only two children lived to adulthood.

Matilda Wilson 1844 to 1883 married to Thomas Silk

Matilda Wilson was the youngest child of Elizabeth and Job Wilson. She was born in Kurrajong in 1844 and died in Gladesville on January 1, 1883. 

Matilda married Thomas Silk on March 13, 1862 in Richmond. Thomas was born in Richmond on June 18, 1837 and died on March 22, 1903. He was buried at Rookwood cemetery.

Matilda and Thomas had 9 children.

Sophia Barwick 1841 to 1933 married to Dennis Hanley/Handley

Sophia Barwick was born to Charlotte and John Barwick at Kurrajong on June 26, 1841. She died at Kensington on May 14, 1933. Sophia married Dennis Hanley in 1869.

Sophia and Dennis had nine children. All known as HANDLEY.

Henrietta Barwick 1843 to 1928 married to George Jaffray

Henrietta Barwick was born in Kurrajong to Charlotte and John Barwick on December 19, 1843. She died at Kurrajong on September 29, 1928. Henrietta married George Jaffray in 1868. Henrietta is buried at St Stephen's Anglican Church Kurrajong.

Henrietta and George had nine children.

Adelaide Francis Wilson was the fourth child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. She was born in Kurrajong in 1854 and died at Hornsby in 1933. Adelaide married John Merrick in 1875.

Adelaide and John had seven children.

1. Charles John 1876 - 1923 married Christina Woods. Possibility of two other marriages. He had five children.

2. Edith Susannah 1878 - 1948 married Ernest Thiele and Guy Engleheart. She had three children.

3. Rowland William 1880 - 1958 married Alice Moulds. He had at least one child.

4. Alexander Leslie 1883 - 1961 married Gertrude Palmer. He had three children.

5. Lillian May 1885 - 1980 married Thomas Drinkwater. They had two children.

6. Violetta May 1888 - 1889.

7. Eva Eliza 1890 - 1936 married Cyril Small. She had two children.

Agnes Matilda Wilson 1856 to 1933 married Julian Underwood Alley

Agnes Matilda was the fifth child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. She was born at Kurrajong in 1856 and died in 1933. She married Julian Underwood Alley in 1879.

They had twelve children.

1. Walter Underwood 1879 - 1935 married Esther Judd. They had nine children.

2. George Underwood 1880 - 1957 married Florence Pannel and had at least one child.

3. Alfred Ernest Underwood 1882 - 1962 married Ellen Winter. They had five children.

4. Percy Underwood 1884 - 1957 married Bridget Denton and Ruby Allen. He had 13 children.

5. Linden Underwood 1886 - 1959 married May Morgan. No children.

6. Julien Underwood 1888 - 1948 married Jessie Grahame. They had six children.

7. Rowland Edward 1890 - 1976 married Clara Wardley. They had at least one child.

Edward Roland Wilson 1858 to 1933 married to Johanna Riley

Edward Roland Wilson was the second son and sixth child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. He was born in Kurrajong, NSW in 1858 and died in Camperdown, NSW in 1933. In 1884 he married Johanna Riley.

Edward and Johanna had twelve children.

1. Percy Edward 1885 - 1936 married Lina Melchior and had two children.

2. Lillian Gertrude 1886 - 1927 married William Stonham and had two children.

3. Amelia Maud 1888 - 1903. Never married.

4. Priscilla 1889 - 1966 married Thomas Cranch. She had two children.

5. Claude 1890 - 1970 married Katherine Armstrong. He had at least one child.

6. Sidney 1892 - 1972 married Olive Cuddington. He had at least one child.

7. Carl 1894 - 1967 married Rhoda Thlein. They had three children.

8. Ina 1896 - 1979 married Frank Zinc. No issue.

9. Sylvia Mabel 1898 - 1991 married Robert Barratt. They had two children.

10. Ivy Clarissa 1900 - 1982 married Walter Carter. They had three children.

Roland Edward Wilson 1861 to 1895 married Ellen Riley

Roland Edward was the seventh child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. He was born at Kurrajong in 1861 and died there in 1895. Roland married Ellen Riley in 1885.

They had six children.

1. Florence May 188? was the natural daughter by Roland's relationship with Louisa Shepherd. She was adopted by her grandfather Edward Wilson.

5. Clement Clarence 1892 - 1969 married Olivia Tulloch. They had at least one child.

James Job Wilson 1863 to 1920 married Agnes Quinn

James Job Wilson was the eighth child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. He was born in Kurrajong, NSW in 1863 and died in 1920.

James was married to Agnes Quinn in 1891. James was accidentally shot by his son Roy at their residence in North Sydney. You can read the article here.

Susannah Maria Wilson 1867 to 1943 married to William Davis

Susannah Maria Wilson was the ninth child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley. She was born in Kurrajong, NSW in 1867 and died in 1943. She married William Davis in 1888.

Alfred Thomas Wilson 1872 - 1955 married to Ethel Howard

The tenth and last child of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley was Alfred Thomas. Alfred was born in 1872 in Kurrajong, NSW and died in 1955. He married Ethel Howard in 1902.

They had three children.

1. Norman William 1902 - 1973 married to Hazel Fisher and then Beatrice Charles.

2. Phyllis Maud 1906 - 1956 married to Bernard Vincent Schache. They had one son, the legendary Bruce Howard Schache (1931 - 2012).

3. Alfred Stanley 1909 - 1969 married Phoebe Kathleen Case. They had one son.

Elizabeth Isabella Hawkins 1867 -1937 married Edward Bownds

Elizabeth Isabella Hawkins was the sixth child of Susan Wilson and Joseph Hawkins. She was born in Kurrajong on August 18 in 1867. Elizabeth Isabella is listed as 'Isabella, living aged 37' on her father Joseph Hawkins's death certificate in 1902. 

Isabella is named in this news article from 1889. 

Isabella married Edward Bownds circa 1897 in Wellington, (although there is no record for this) - it is listed on her death certificate. Edward died in 1929.  Isabella died in April 1937 in Coonabarabran aged 69 and an article about her death can be read here. It appears that she and Edward had no children.

Edward Thomas Wilson 1865 to 1932 married Emily Jane Hurst

Edward Thomas Wilson was the fourth child of Thomas Wilson and Hannah Douglass. He was born in Kurrajong in 1865 and died there in 1932. He married Emily Jane Hurst, the daughter of Joseph Hurst and Alice Overton.

Edward and Emily had eight children.

Edward Neal was the second child of Jane Wilson and Daniel Neal. He was born in Richmond in 1860 and died there in 1860.

Edward Silk 1875 to 1916 married Emma Woods

Edward Silk was the ninth child of Matilda Wilson and Thomas Silk. He was born in Richmond in 1875 and died in Narromine in 1916. In 1902 Edward married Emma Woods.

They had two children.

1. Francis Edward 1904 - 1954. Married Ada Austin in 1925. They had four children.

Edward Roland Handley 1881 to 1945 married Margaret Lyons

Christina Florentia Jaffray was the sixth child of Henrietta Barwick and George Jaffray. She was born in Kurrajong in 1877 and died in Sydney in 1961. Christina married Edward James Cullen in Kurrajong in 1898. They had seven children. You can read Christina's obituary here.
