Harriett Barwick 1831 to 1898 married to William Giddins

Harriett Barwick was born to Charlotte and John Barwick in Kurrajong on August 16, 1831. She died at Kurrajong on September 12, 1861. Harriett married William Giddins at Richmond on March 26, 1849. Harriet and William are buried at St Stephen's Anglican Church Kurrajong.

Harriett and William had 16 children.

Diana Wilson 1851 to 1927 married to Samuel Hurst and John Shepherd

The second daughter of Edward Wilson and Susannah Riley was Diana. Diana Wilson was born at Kurrajong in 1851 and died there in 1927. In 1872 Diana married Samuel Hurst. After Sam's death in 1896, Diana married John Shepherd in 1899.

Samuel was the son of Elizabeth Barwick and Samuel Hurst and was born in Kurrajong in 1841. He and Diana were second cousins. Sam died in October 1896. There is a lovely newspaper memorial from Diana for Sam.

3. May Edith 1877 - 1953 married Theodore James Giddins. Theodore was then son of Harriet Barwick and William Giddins.

4. Samuel Edward 1879 -1955. Never married.

5. James 1881- 1955 married Mildren Glidden. They had at least three children.

6. William Kenneth 1884 - 1969 married Celia Allister. They had three children.

7. Priscilla 1886 - 1954 married Herbert Stanford. They had five children.

8. Ruby Alice 1888 - 1950 married John Riley in 1911. They had seven children. Read Ruby's death notice here.

9. Horace Gordon 1891 - 1976 married Nellie Richards. They had two children.

10. Arthur Leslie 1892 - 1952 married Mabel Hastings. No record of children.

Henrietta Giddins 1848 to 1938 married John Henry Turner

Henrietta Giddins was the first child of Harriett Barwick and William Giddins. She was born in Kurrajong in 1848 and died in Griffith in 1938. Henrietta married John Henry Turner in 1869 in Windsor. They had twelve children.

John Giddins 1851 to 1929

John Giddins was the third child of Harriett Barwick and William Giddins. He was born in Kurrajong in 1851 and died in 1929 in Warren, NSW.

Dinah Giddins 1853 to ?

Dinah Giddins was the fourth child of Harriett Barwick and William Giddins. She was born in Kurrajong in 1853 and it is not known when she died. Dinah may be the mother of the well-known and much-loved Theo Giddins. More investigation needed.

Mary Giddins 1854 to 1870

Mary Giddins was the fifth child of Harriett Barwick and William Giddins. She was born in Kurrajong in 1854 and died there in 1870. Mary is buried at St Stephens Kurrajong. 

William Giddins 1857 to 1935 married Elizabeth Griffith

William Giddins was the sixth child of Harriett Barwick and William Giddins. He was born in Kurrajong in 1857 and died in Richmond in 1935. William married Elizabeth Griffith in 1875. They had sixteen children. You can view Elizabeth's obituary here.

Elizabeth Giddins was the tenth child of Harriett Barwick and William Giddins. She was born in Kurrajong in 1863 and died in Grose Vale in 1935. Elizabeth married James Horan in 1883. They had eleven children. James' obituary can be read here.
